What to do when it feels like everyone else is doing your thing

Have you ever been excited to create something only to feel super discouraged when you are suddenly bombarded by a bunch of other people who are already doing the same thing?

If seeing someone else create the thing your heart desires stops you dead in your tracks, this message is for you. I want you to consider some new perspectives on why this is actually a good thing.

A year ago, I had an idea to create a membership offering. All of the details had been laid out and I was excited to start inviting people in. The week I had planned to send my initial invitations out, I received 3 separate emails from other women who were launching memberships. The first two shook me a bit, but the third one stopped me dead in my tracks. The format of each offering was ridiculously similar to mine. It was almost like I was reading my own content in someone else’s newsletter.

Thoughts began to cloud my mind. Would they think I was copying them? Would there be anyone left to join my membership? Was the market already saturated with memberships? Had I missed my window of opportunity?

To say I was deflated would’ve been an understatement. I let go of my membership idea and it wasn’t until later that I began to see the situation through a different lens. What I realized is that I’m crazy good at manifesting things and I was experiencing the law of attraction in action. Below are the mindset shifts that I used to reframe this experience and shift some of my own beliefs.

Confirmation that it's possible.

Shift your perspective to see similar messages as confirmation that you are on the right path. Why? Because part of manifestation is being in the vibration of your desires.

By focusing my own energy on the idea of a membership, I was attracting examples of other memberships that were also being created. The Universe wasn’t trying to shut me down or keep me small. That idea doesn’t align with the loving supportive Universe that I believe in. Having multiple memberships show up in my inbox was showing me that I was in the vibration of what I desired.

YOU are the part that can't be replicated.

There are literally millions of people out there and every one of them has different needs, wants, and preferences. I did not choose to accept any of the membership invitations I received. None of them felt aligned with who I am or what I needed in that moment.

We are all unique and that’s what makes our offerings special. Two people could offer the exact same workshop and the experience will be completely different because the people leading are different. Never forget that YOU are what makes your service unique.

Choose what you want to believe.

The market is saturated if you believe it is. I still meet individuals who have never met a life coach. I also still meet people who have never heard of Reiki. I was at a dinner party with a group of friends who had never even heard the term woo. Trust me. There are still plenty of potential clients out there. You were given your dream and your desires for a reason. Your people are out there, and they are waiting for you to step into your power.

Takeaway Tip: Find Expanders to give yourself proof it can be done.

I recently joined a Facebook group named Lacy's Manifestation Secret Society (click here to check it out). In the group, people look for Expanders to help them with their manifestations. Individuals ask for examples of people who have experienced what they desire so they can see that it is in fact possible.

The next time you see someone doing something that you want to do, I invite you to look at them as your own Expander. A living example that the thing you desire is in fact possible. I want to encourage you to actively seek out Expanders who are doing the things you desire. If they can do it, so can you!
